Woah, a new release! And it's from me! Stoked! This track track is pretty creepy, with crunchy (dead) drums, lotsa tritones, and some crazy distortomadness happenings in the middle. Makes me think of driving at night, which I have actually done to this song, and it worked just great, putting me in this invincible warrior of death sort of mindframe that is really conducive to safe driving. But, the song, yeah, it's got this sort of stumbling beat and these spooky samples of words like "Celestial" and it's just crazy! You'll love it!

Here we have a little time capsule from the beginning of the millenium (remember that?). This is an EP constructed entirely from MIDI sounds, and is an excellent display of Orpheus' writing talents, especially within the context of a limited sound palette. The music is perky and poppy, playful and bouncy. Everything is decidedly more linear than the usual Orpheus things and the drums sound more like samples of accoustic drum hits than the squishy-tight snaps that are usually favored. Above all the melodies are catchy and fun, ensuring that you will be returning to this EP for a while now. The Cosmic DJ: space has never smelled so tasty! (??????)

But wait... that doesn't sound right. The box doesn't normally click that loud, and so fast... and the swooshy sound... not so purple now, sort of black, kind of red. Oh dear. After way too long, Satori has presented us with the first Metem release of the winter, and it sounds like the cold is really starting to set in. This track features huge arctic monolith synths peeling away some dark existential melancholy, while static beats pummel their way into the void. Midway through the bottom drops out and we see the bottom of the glacier, in all it's dark glory, resurfacing to find the icy air charged by the northern lights. Which is one way of saying: very pretty, pretty sad, music to accompany a hot beverage.
